Permanent Makeup in La Jolla
Living and working in San Diego County often means time is of the essence whether you're trying to get to work, picking up the kids from school or getting out to the beach. If you were to calculate how much time it takes for you to pencil in your eyebrows, apply your eyeliner or rouge your lips everyday, you would be amazed. Permanent makeup is a great time saver for women on the move and an even better investment if you have poor eyesight or trouble keeping your hands steady when you try to apply your makeup. To understand all of your permanent makeup options, schedule a consultation with award winning Dermatologist, Dr. Susan Stuart, at La Jolla Dermatology by calling (858) 623-6333 or you can contact LaJollaSkin.com online.
The Many Advantages of Permanent Makeup
Permanent makeup not only saves you time, it offers you a consistent look without the consistent effort. How many times have you cringed because you're running behind and you can't get your eyebrows on straight? How awful do you feel when you arrive late and you know you don't look your best? Permanent makeup is the win-win you've been looking for in your daily routine. La Jolla Dermatology can't guarantee that you'll never be late again, but you'll always look your best when you finally arrive.
For many Southern California women, our eyesight becomes a deterrent to being able to apply makeup, especially around the eyes, and having a steady hand while applying eyeliner is difficult at almost any age. Why continue to try everyday for the perfect eyeliner or the perfect eyebrows, when you can save time and aggravation and have long lasting, flawless results every day?
If you have sensitive skin that suffers allergic reactions to make up or if you have a skin disorder that causes makeup to "slide off" of your skin, permanent makeup can offer beautiful results without any skin damage.
Let Dr. Stuart explain all of your permanent makeup options by scheduling a consultation at La Jolla Dermatology. You can call (858) 623-6333 or you can contact LaJollaSkin.com online.
Permanent Makeup at La Jolla Dermatology
Your treatment will begin by cleansing your skin and applying either a topical anesthetic or injecting a local anesthetic along the treatment area. Permanent makeup is applied with a very fine needle that is dipped in pigment and injected into the skin. This tattooing process is repeated until the desired result is achieved.
The application of permanent makeup takes about one hour per treatment session. If more than one facial feature is treated, the application may take longer.
La Jolla Dermatology is a world class dermatology clinic offering state-of-the-art skin care and cosmetic treatments to our clientele. Our award winning, board certified Dermatologist, Susan M. Stuart, M.D. Dr. Stuart is considered one San Diego's leading experts in Dermatology and has been selected as one of America's Top Physicians in Dermatology. Dr. Stuart served for two-terms as the Chief of Dermatology at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla and was one of the youngest past presidents of the San Diego Dermatological Society. Dr. Stuart has been voted one of the best doctors by the La Jolla Light readers' poll.
Permanent Makeup Recovery
As the needle penetrates the skin, you may bleed slightly. With topical anesthetic there is little discomfort involved in the treatment, but you may experience some scabbing after your appointment. You might also experience some swelling for the first few days after your makeup application.
The skin will be cleansed after treatment and antibiotic ointment may be prescribed for application during your recovery. Your skin will heal during the week following your treatment. It is important to avoid sun exposure during your recovery as this may lighten the pigment.
Within 6 to 8 weeks after your initial makeup application, you should return for a follow up appointment and to receive a touch up application if necessary.
