With a history of blunt nasal trauma as a child, this 40 year old woman came to the practice seeking a change in the look as well as the function of her nose. Due to the crooked structure of her nose, she was having breathing problems and knew that this needed to be fixed. After meeting with Dr. Richard Chaffoo to discuss the possible options for San Diego plastic surgery, they agreed that rhinoplasty was the best choice to give her an improved ability to breathe.

Dr. Chaffoo performs rhinoplasty by creating incisions in one of two places; either on the inside of the nostrils (a "closed" procedure) or on the outside of the nose between the nostrils (an "open" procedure). During this patient's surgery, Dr. Chaffoo was able to remove and rearrange the bone and cartilage to the desired size and shape. Afterwards he closed the incisions and the patient wore a temporary splint to protect her nose.

This patient's "after" photo was taken just 3 months post-surgery, and her healing and swelling is still coming down while she is on the path to being fully recovered. She already is thrilled that she can breathe normally after surgery and is very happy with her results, which meet her expectations for the San Diego rhinoplasty that she desired.
