Plastic surgeons have refined techniques to re-contour the face and body with the removal of unwanted and excess fat through liposuction. Older methods have been replaced with newer instrumentation allowing the plastic surgeon to sculpture the human form in a more precise and controlled manner to create consistently superior aesthetic results. Board certified plastic surgeons have the necessary training, experience, and credentials to evaluate each patient’s aesthetic concerns for the entire face and body in order to achieve the treatment goals which are specific for each individual. As an added measure of safety, Liposuction and Lipocontouring are performed in a fully accredited (AAASF) outpatient surgery center with close monitoring of each patient by a board certified MD anesthesiologist. A fully licensed and AAASF accredited surgery center and a certified MD anesthesiologist is the “gold standard” for surgery centers.
Body contouring procedures are performed through small incisions. Fat is removed using small cannulas attached to a machine which collects the fat cells. Fat cells can be reinserted into areas of deficiency including depressions, dimples, and scars. Fat cells can also be used to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth and eyes.
Following surgery, each patient is placed in a custom garment designed to support the surgical area for several weeks. Most fine incisions are hidden by clothing or in the natural folds of the skin. Results are typically seen in several weeks to months. Although Liposuction and Lipocontouring are not a substitute for diet and exercise, body contouring and liposuction results can be quite dramatic.
